How do I come to the Bible? . Do I come determined How do I come to the Bible?
.
Do I come determined to make it say what I want it to say? Or do I come ready to receive what it actually says?
.
Do I see the Bible—the whole Bible—as my authority, or as a tool to support my own ideas? Do I conform to it, or do I try to twist it?
.
Throughout the ages people have used (or tried to use) the Bible to back up every false idea under the sun, and it’s still happening today. The parts they like are used out of context, and the parts they don’t they label as flawed.
.
But we either believe the Bible, or we don’t. We see it as pure through-and-through and worthy of humbling ourselves before as God’s Word, or we pridefully put ourselves above it.
.
As followers of Jesus, may we approach the Bible with reverence and readiness to believe and obey it, trusting it was given by a God who is wholly true and wholly love. And when we do, we can have confidence that the Lord will give us the wisdom to understand and apply it as He intends it to be understood and applied. This is the most joyful and free way to live.

The stereotypes of men and women. You know the one The stereotypes of men and women. You know the ones: those things that make women say, “Oh, men are just like that,” and the things that make men say, “Oh, women are just like that.”
.
These “classic” male and female traits are usually talked about and viewed as bad by the other. And yes, sadly, because of sin those characteristics have been tainted and are often acted on wrongly.
.
However:
.
These characteristics—these classic differences between men and women—were created by God as good. They were give to us to compliment one another, not to pit us against each other. And rather than discourage each other for these, what if we championed these good, core male and female traits instead? What if we stopped belittling and started appreciating? What if, instead of criticizing, we started praying for the other and spurring the other on to embrace who God made us to be as men and women?
.
This world needs men who fully embrace God’s design for manhood, and women who fully embrace God’s design for womanhood. And the world needs men and women who support and champion one another in this, not tear each other down.
.
God made men and women, and said it was very good. As His redeemed children, let’s be the first to live that out.

God put us here on purpose, for a purpose. Today i God put us here on purpose, for a purpose. Today is no mistake; He will go before us, providing grace for whatever He calls us to.

When you have a growing family, and especially whe When you have a growing family, and especially when you have babies or toddlers that wake up frequently or are fighting whatever structure seemed to be working for a while, it can be really tough. However, over the years my husband and I have discovered some principles that have helped us significantly with establishing some life-giving rhythm in our days. And because I’m asked about this topic fairly often I thought I’d share a few of those principles with you.
.
• First Discipline, Then Flexibility
• Consistency
• Use Time Blocks
• Ask God for Wisdom
.
Remember, friend, you’re not alone as you wrestle through establishing structure for your days. Every mom faces the struggles of feeling behind or overwhelmed or unsure of how to create order in some area (or many). But God will give you what you need for today. He has called you to the season you are in now, and He will not leave or forsake you.
.
Another blog post is up! Returning to the practical this week. ☺️ I hope this will provide some fresh inspiration for you if you’re feeling the need to re-vamp your daily or weekly routines.

“That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach the full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments.” Colossians 2:2-4
.
Delude: to mislead the mind or judgement of
Plausible: superficially fair, reasonable, or valuable but often specious (having a false look of truth)
.
There are a million plausible arguments swirling around in our world; arguments that have the appearance of truth. But when heeded, they will surely lead us away from truth.
.
How do we guard our minds and hearts against these lies? By delighting in Jesus. We have “full assurance of understanding” when we are saturated in the knowledge of Christ. Because in Christ are *all* treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
.
We need look no further than Jesus (as revealed in the Bible) to find the answers we need for this life. We don’t need any “extra” knowledge beyond this to help us interpret who God “really” is or what He “really” says. Beware of those who say you do—who tell you some other source is actually necessary to truly understand what the Bible says.
.
In Christ is everything we need. Let’s delight ourselves in Him today.
